Would anyone be willing to show her blended with the Girl 7? 50 50 and 75-G7 with 25-G8.Thank you

    @ CORTEX

Yes, $ 72.07 is the price for the bundle and 3 add-ons for me.

Without add-ons is the price $ 66.13 and yes I am an PC+ member.

Do you know, how many pro bundle I must own for the extra discount (banner)?

Thank you very much for your time and help!

I think you need at least 3, but for some offers it maybe 4.

Daz is saving me a tons of cash, as I flat out never buy a female figure with no proper male counterpart.

That makes absolutely no sense to me, but obviously we each use DS in our own ways. Hopefuly you'll get your male version sooner rather than later..

Ah ok, you meant the 72 was the total cart ie pro bundle plus addons.

So is the actual bundle itself when you have the 3 addons in cart 52.9 as the calculations showed  for people without the banner discount ?

Though TBH, Even though she is supposed to be Asian, she doesn't look very Asian to me....

This looks what I'd really call Asian.  She's gorgeous, and to me, looks like Lucy Liu.  I have her in my wishlest but have to wait for a sale.

  • I'm thinking of like Mike Turner's style when I say the Guy wasn't buff or manly enough, and I think that's kind of what Serene Night was getting at as well. He was a comic artist that passed away some time ago, but his work still shines today, and he's easily one of my favorite artist, along with J. Scott Campbell (whos character's remind me a lot of The Girl).

That look is muscle striation is due to dehydration. That's what body builders do before competitions but that isn't the way they normally look. I find that look unhealthy, because it is unhealthy, but it does show off muscle development for competition.

As far as art style it looks distracting and unattractive.

Understandable. But the Girl is also highly unhealthy. She has a 20 inch waist.

I feel the point of these specific type of characters is hyper realism, and that is what the point of that kind of look in drawn men is, not to look real, or healthy, or anything other then over the top.

I think The Guy is just fine the way he is, but he doesn't have that over the top aspect that I see in The Girl. He looks, normal, which is fine, actually his body type is kind of like mine, so I'm not trying to bash him, in fact he's a bit more buff then myself, but he's not over the top. Which is also fine, just if The Girl 8 isn't "The Girl" then he's not her gender swapped equal, which is also fine.

To show a real life comparison of a 20 inch waist check out this model. Her name is Ioana Spangenberg and apperently she doesn't wear a corset, and is in fact perfectly healthy, so I'm not trying to bash her either.

Sorry, should have clarified more, I don't understand this need for a counterpart and how it dictates a purchase or not.. While I can see it as a nice addition for those that might want one, I can't see it as a requirement or need.

I was watching a fascinating documentary about Barbie dolls (The Toys that Made Us, on Netflix)

And one thing they pointed out that Barbies unrealistic proportions had a very practical basis: they don’t make tiny cloth for tiny clothing, they cut regular cloth for tiny clothing.

Which meant once you put two or three layers of clothing on a doll, it creeps up the neck and balloons out the shape.

So Barbies had tiny waists and long necks to accommodate clothing so the final result looked right.

She does look great, love the face morph. Unfortunately I have found that the skin on Pixeluna models really doesn't shine in iray like some other PAs that seem to have a better grasp on Iray and getting the most out of it,

Nothing about this lady speaks "healthy" to me, but she is a model and I know they try to be as thin as possible. But I digress...

I don't have many Pixeluna characters (something I hope to remedy soon), but I recently purchased her Tilwig character (when Edie 8 was released) and her skin (IMO) looks AWESOME! I think she has a great grasp of Iray and skin - at least what I've seen so far. I don't buy a LOT of characters and sadly only recently "discovered" Pixeluna's work, but after getting her adorable Tilwig I'm definitely planning on more purchases of her characters. :)

That's just my opinion though. :) I do really like what she did with that character and it's one of maybe two or three characters of all the characters that I've purchased over the past couple of years that I wasn't even tempted to make adjustments to the skin. I look forward to purchasing other characters from her.

(Sorry to go off topic in this Girl 8 thread - but thought I'd put in my two cents on the above subject). :)

My first image with a Girl 8 character. This one is VYK Midge. I really love the look of the Girl 8. I really like the Razors Edge Outfit, too.

The rim light on her left side looks great, and I really like the hair you chose, @knittingmommy.

Nice image Diva! Whaddya mean you don't buy a lot of characters??!! LOL surprise

I guess now that I have Altern8 I should revisit some of the skins that didn't look that great in Iray in the past ;-)

hahah  But, I Don't have a lot of characters (I pass on SO MANY that I would buy if I had the funds). :) I guess it's relative though. There are people who have a TON more characters than I do and I'm sure there are people who have way fewer characters than I do as well. :)

    Thank you for the compliment!

That Tilwig image is 100% Pixeluna skin, no Altern8. :) It's one of like 3 characters that I own that I've never been tempted to even touch with Altern8. I think Pixeluna did a wonderful job on her.

And yeah, definitely revisit some of the characters that you maybe didn't like the skin of before (if you have some time) and see if you like them better with Altern8. I've changed my mind on returning a couple of characters after adjustments with Altern8. You can even use the Gens shaders on older characters - V4, G1, G2. Just be sure and plug a map into the "translucency color" slot or it looks odd. Some of the older characters don't put any texture maps in the Translucency Color slot and may need them added manually (I found I had to do that with many G2 characters).

Ahhh I'm derailing the thread again! Sorry! To get it back on topic here's a couple of mixes with The Girl 8 -

    The Girl 8 at 28%:

The Girl 8 at 28% mixed with Alexandra 8 at 75%:

Personally, skin in IRAY tends to shine more than I see in folks around me. So that is good.

I don't understand this need for a counterpart

I don’t either but I’ve never bought a character to specifically compliment the opposite sex counterpart.

Choosing to dehydrate one's body is an unhealthy choice which is what professional bodybuilders do, but that model's waistline isn't a choice so it's not really a good comparison.

The DAZ toon characters are intentional caricatures but straited muscles isn't bringing much to the caricature because it injects too much realism of a dehydrated bodybuilder. I think though that SimonJW's Swole's body can be dialed in and Guy 8's dialed out - well if it isn't massively striated. Guy 7 did have an HD addon which added 'body builder' type details to Guy 7 to make him look 'ripped'

I honestly don't think the current Guy character is really doing it for the marketplace or we'd see him in the lineup. So regardless as to whether he is real or fake and whether he is or isn't suffering dehydration, there is still a need for a strong, hot male toon which I am all for.

I don't particularly need him to be a counterpart to Girl 8 either. So far, there hasn't been a lot of demand for her partner or he would've sold here.

So, hopefully they might take a different tact and make a different sort of male toon.

I honestly kind of wonder how popular Girl 8 even is. I know many wouldn't have bought her if the offers included with her as deals weren't so great.... If she was a best seller those offers would've been less neccessary. Most of the people I know wanted her stuff and deals as well, so I am skeptical about the figure.

I hope for her fans sake she is a big seller though.

I was looking forward to grabbing Bestie (finishing up my Girl 8 Pro purchases download now), but despite mentioning it a couple of times now, it hasn't been fixed.  I'm not seeing the 51% discount on Bestie, which I should since I now own the Girl 8 pro bundle.

I was hoping this would get fixed by now so that I could avoid contacting Sales Support again, but alas despite doing a bunch of things (restarting browser, restarting computer, removing and re-adding Bestie to my cart throughout the day, purchasing something else as a separate purchase today, etc.) no joy.

These sorts of things can become rather irritating after a while.

You could say that about all the offers for all the characters, why make them if they sell without the offers? I know just the fact that they are selling Genesis 8 means all prior character and clothing models are out of bounds for me unless they are like $1.99 priced and I really like them. So I remain unconvinced about your arguments about the need for a more masculine and a more muscular Guy 8; and the more sexy part is subjective. I think they may even dial back the caricatured muscularity given they dialed back the caricaturized femininity of Girl 7 on Girl 8.

As far as sales go I have no doubt, based on both quality and selection available for Girl 8 in the Pro Bundle and related add-ons, that Girl 8 will be, is she isn't already, the best selling 'The Girl' character ever. I expect the same for Guy 8 although I'm wondering if they'll do as many great character & shape morph addons for Guy 8 as they did for Girl 8.
