This is soooo true Pam....good one...LOL
Leaving the long and winding trail of Route 66 and venturing up the Extraterrestrial Highway to Area 51, we find a very well signposted top secret military facility. :)
@Trish - I don't like when they jump at me when I take a photo. Very nice render. One suggestion: there should be a tiny bit of light on the underside.
@Pam - what I nice idea. Original and fake, find the differences.
@Dave - nice flying saucer. The fence is awesome. I like this one.
A bit late (busy, busy), but a HNY 2014 all.
Guss...love the chocolaty-orange mat...very tasty.
yellow Pen...gorgeous...kind of a hot, sticky Amazon feel to it.
Trish...very nice grass (I said...'grass'...phew) ;)
Chohole...hahaaa...didn't kinow Monet did cats too :)
Jay
Had a bit of fun with the 9 and 15 segment Wings shapes. IBL lit, ground plane and shape only. A bit of hyper textures, too. First rendered in 1 minute, second one took 9 seconds longer.
Dave: The green guy is really cool
Jay: close call huh...LOL
Horo: I like your colors
I added a small radial set on 2.....under the beasty......Man eater coming soon to a theater near you......LOL
@Trish - looking better now.
thank you Jamahoney :-)
Horo... this is very beautiful. Is this one of the P41 Materials?
ADBC: congrats and it was a wonderful Bryce entry http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/33438/#510863 Trish
@ TheSavage64.
He needs a "Tour Guide" badge.
Seems like what he needs is some flying lessons. :-)
LOL.....poor little green guy
@Trish: Nice grass. The first image with the cat is good, the closeup even better.
@yellow Pen: Thanks.
@Pam: Interesting that a cat would be caught in that pose.
@Dave: Saucer images are super. Someone in that last image is going to complain about the hole in the fence.
@Horo: Beautiful results.
Reworked the fountain center to get better falling water geometry. I think this time is the charm, as is the water material I chose. There will be one more falling water geometry when I add the main fountain bowl.
@yellow Pen - thank you. No, it's a new material using Hyper Texture. The product will come out soon.
@Dave - oh dear, the nice fence.
@GussNemo - great, that's what I was looking for all the time. Now we need a nice scene to put the fountain in. The park in summer, perhaps.
Thank you, did not realize I made it second.
Congratulation to you, you deserved to win I really like the Cougar's "expression"
I haven't noticed - congratulations to Trish for her 1st place and adbc for his second. Two known Brycers on the podest is quite remarkable. Well done!
Horo: thank you but I don't really count since I rendered mine in Darkside....but I do appreciate your congratulations just the same
@bullit35744: Dangerous kitten. Looks very good up-close. And congrats!
@adbc: Also congratulated!
@chohole: Well, I'm not so sure about ALL art being better with a kitten....
@GussNemo: Wonderful fountain. Now indeed time for a full scene!
@TheSavage64: Oops, sorry. My mistake. Thought it was a net to catch landing UFO's. Didn't realise it was a fence. Won't happen again!
Just playing with the same scene... came up with this.
Dave, excellent as usual, I begin to wonder if you can make a bad scene? Don't take that as a challenge! To make a good bad scene? Do everything against the book but somehow it works?
Anyway, such speculation aside, in spite of, or because of, spending many hours poking around in DS's node based shader mixer - aye, somewhere inside DS is a decent piece of software I think - just the interface is so bad - to me anyway - maybe some like DS interface? Anyway, I do not get on with the DS interface, but I would like some of the material features, and likewise, DS could benefit from some of Bryce's clever functions (as could Octane) but never mind. What it has lead to is further insights into more new and unusual ways that Bryce can be used. Here the inside of the box becomes a directional light source stimulated by weak light sources outside it and is mirrored - but also transparent. So you can see inside but not out. This novel effect is still at the experimental stages. But again, this would not be possible in Octane or DS.
I'll take your saying it's not a challenge as a challenge. :lol:
@ horo @ hansmar : thanks for the congrats.
@The Savage64 : great scene !
I have to add to those congrats adbc
It was really nice to see a Brycer win a prize in the contest, and it was a good entry, as was Trish's (our Trish, not the other Trish) :coolsmile:
BTW Trish I have a similar problem to you, and it is with someone I communicate with a lot., so our PMs are always to Pam, from Pam :roll:
Well - everyone has posted some really gorgeous stuff while I've been making doors and rooms.
Memorable are the River Willows scene, (yellow Pen)
Gus Nemo's Stoney Fountain
Trish's lovely kitty,
David's room with mobius thingie,
Dave's UFO Crash with tearful Little Green Man,
hansmar's Human Bridge,
Pam's 'I will wear Purple' lady - sweet!
nreed's interesting 1st stage of city building.
Congrats to Trish & adbc! Brilliant work.
I've been playing with my Pealand Palace, trying out a white-ish version.
I originally prefered the black version but I dunno, this one has something I think...
Anyway, Happy New Year to all...
Thank you everyone...I am glad I wasn't the judge I would not have picked me ...I really liked the fireplace scene....
Fran: I like your room...did you do that with a graphics tablet??
Jamie: You got water now cool...can I get a drink..
Dave: ok I will bite lets see you do a bad render....I don't think you can either...
Pam: how funny so we are in the same boat about the names...LOL she took my tiger idea too....They need to fix the pink color
Hey all how about this color pallet problem guy... that no one has answered on our front page....oh course I don't know the answer
@Dave - looking really nice.
@franontheedge - interesting place, not exactly inviting, though.
I picked up David's idea from above and played around a bit. First rendered in 43 seconds, second took 4 minutes. Both are IB lit.
An upgrade of a previous idea using a hypertexture.
Hypertexture driven high contrast gel lit rendering - by David Brinnen
Edit. Oooh, well done Horo, that didn't take long did it?
Um... well I created some of the patterns/designs just with a pencil and paper - then I scanned those drawings into the PC.
For some of them I did the design directly in PhotoShop - yes... with a tablet and pen.
I find it much easier to draw with a pen N tablet than with a mouse.
Why? Do you use a tablet?
@Horo,
Thanks. No it's not meant to be inviting, I was hoping more for slightly disturbing or spooky.
The 'Hall of Eyes' is that too I hope, this view shows a glimpse into The Hall of Eyes from the darkly textured version of the Pealand Palace main hall:
Looks great Fran... I could see it as part of a set in a Tim Burton movie. :)
Fran: no I don't... but I was thinking about investing in one...and was going to ask which one you used...LOL
your puppy dog from frank and weenie would look really cute in there....
