I don't feel well and it is midnight. Nothing can be done about it unless I wake someone up.

...I remember shopping at Wynn Dixie when I lived in New Orleans.  We had one down on Tchoupitoulas St. along the river near the Tulane and Loyola campuses.

...just received an email alert about wildfire danger due to warm dry weather for the next ten days.  It is only April 13th and this is the earliest I've seen such a warning posted since I moved here over 30 years ago.  Really not looking forward to another summer of hazy skies and thick choking smoke.  Last year was by far the worst I've seen (posted pics here of it).

why do they call it a boxing ring, when its square?

  • kyoto kidkyoto kid Posts: 41,023

...in pro wrestling it's affectionately referred to as the "Squared Circle" as in Olympic, international, collegiate, and high school wrestling there is no ring, only large mat on which the boundary is a circle.

Complaint:  Amazon billing logs.frown  I've just spent the last two hours trying to resolve my list of amazon receipts, invoices, spreadsheet entries, credit card records and received goods.  I try to keep my spreadsheet accurate to the penny, but when you order multiple items at once they split it up into separate invoices for the various vendors involved.  So I make an entry in my spreadsheet for each grouping's total (items+tax).  Then somewhere along the line the items in the list might be shipped separately differently from the original invoice grouping.  And they don't pull the money from your credit card until the item ships.  Then the items arrive scattered in time, and the payment record at the Amazon website logs your payment after shipping, in different groups than originally ordered.  So, the amount logged doesn't match the original invoice.  This gets confusing, especially If you've made 6 or 7 orders like that over a week or two period and don't keep up the spreadsheat religiously every day, but let it go for a week, the accounting becomes a mess.sad  I'm so glad I never did that type of work for a living.  It would drive me crazy.  I keep thinking either I made a mistake or they made a mistake and the totals keep coming out wrong and there's items not yet shipped and sometimes the tax is pulled up-front, and sometimes it's split between the items.  Ghaaaaaaaaa.....crying

Non-complaint:  After I sweep up my pulled out hair and the job is finally done, I always seem to find that yes, indeedy, it's all there, every blinkin' penny.  They were just obfuscated well.indecision

    'Nother non-complaint:  Post-2nd-vaccination blahs are mostly gone.yes

Retopology is applying new mesh over an existing shape. You might do it to change the polygon flow, for better morphing or bending, to reduce resolution, or just to tidy up the mess produced by many 3D scanners or (older versions, at least) exporting from Marvellous Designer.

Complaint: there were soem hard bits on the side of soem of the milk bottles this morning. Apparently somwhere between the bottling plant and our delivery executive a bottle had been broken or damaged, and there were little shards stuck to the bottle (by condensation or spilt milk). I now have a perforated finger tip, fortunately on my left hand so my typing shouldn't be any worse than usual.

Lucky! I have $40 quantum money in my bank account. For a while there it was holding steady at $13.80 and now things are all over the place again. I guess it could be the recent Amazon purchase not being resolved yet, but it makes me nervous, like I'm forgetting a bill or something.

...speaking of bills finally go that past due bill with the power utility cleared.  They started a programme for those of us on low income who had trouble keeping up where if we paid half the balance they would kick in the remaining half.  Also got my Net bill up to date (was lagging a month behind). Feels nice to have zero balances remaining on the accounts.

Now I can justify getting that 2 GB SSD totransfer my Daz Library to and a 2,5" to 3.5" adapter (which takes up only a single bay for two SSDs).  Finally faster scene and content loads on the way.

Tomorrow I'm having a birthday party in my home. Sorry only my housemates are invited. Oh I got cupcakes and soda. I accidentally got 2 Dr perkys instead of a Dr perky and a lemon lime soda.

I forgot to ask this the other day, but what is a "hot" in the context of "I had two hots"? I tried to google it, but the only stuff that came up was related to temperature.

Cowboy boots help me deal with cowpies, dogpies, and catpies much better than heels.  Besides that, heels don't look good on us.  cheeky

"Hot" equals "Texas Hot".  Hotdog on steamed bun slathered with a loose brown mustard type sauce with secret ingredients, topped with finely chopped onion.  I don't know what the "everything" (i.e "two hots with everything" actually means because the only thing I notice other than the sauce is the onion.   I just order it that way because that's the way my father ordered it when he took me there 65+ years ago when I was still too short to see over the lunch counter. Mmmm... warm, soggy, spicy, savory and filling. Add a big chocolate milkshake, french fries made the old way (with potatoes that were potatoes in the morning, not frozen sticks), and you're back in the '50s  I remember the old place in downtown Jamestown, NY back in the '50s.  But that area has been demolished and modernized.  The new place is west of the city but Johnny's retired/dead? and the main place and I think two other similar places in town are run by members of his family each with his recipe for "Texas Hot" secret sauce.

(Picture of the original place, on the website)

PS: Look on the "Find Us" page to see why the interior of the restaurant is decorated in "I Love Lucy" paraphernalia.  Unfortunately no pictures of the interior of the new restaurant on the website.  But believe me, pictures of Lucy stuff in all the Johnny's restaurants in Jamestown.  Also the spot on the map is also about where the infamous  bronze statue of "Scary" Lucy is.  Also in the area is the not so famous replacement that is MUCH better.
