meh neighbours with leaf blowers.  and the fumes.  what happened to good old fashioned raking. and running and jumping into a big pile of leafs

    Raking makes you sweat.

    Running makes you sweat.

    Jumping makes you sweat.

Leaves have ticks and other nastys that just love your sweat.

Much easier to put up with the noise and not sweat.

its funny when i was a kid oatmeal raisin cookies were like the least of my favorites, now is yummi nom-noms with a cuppa.
is one of the things i won't put ranch dressing on.  bleh.  i luv a fresh ranch but not on my cookie thank you.  lol

...this is in the middle of the city to blow dust and litter off the pavement in front of a building, which a push broom could be used for.

I could understand if it was 09:00 or 10:00 but that early is ridiculous.

Agreed. Anyone doing loud yard work before 10 AM is a jerk.

Okay! It's that time again. I'm trying to track down another memory from my childhood. I know that chances of you guys knowing this are slim, but maybe it will at least jog my memory like last time. This time I'm in search of a music video from either the Backstreet Boys or Nsync. I think the video came early on in their career, because I remember thinking  "Who are these clowns?" I really didn't like either band at that time, although watching the videos today, I realize that I don't mind the music that much.

In the video, the guys are singing and dancing (of course). They are outside at least part of the time and while they are dancing outside on a quiet city street (maybe in an alley?), colorful special effects swirl or zigzag behind them. Like, neon-colored special effects. It's bright daylight out as well. That's it. That's all I got at this time. I remember thinking the special effects were pretty bad, which I think is saying something for the times.

One problem that I'm noticing is that at least one song has multiple music videos. I hope they didn't redo the one I remember and take down the original. That would suck.

Did anyone here like them? I figure that's also a long shot.

The first thing that came to mind was I Want It That Way. Not sure if it's what you're looking for.

Hmmm... No that's not it. Thanks though. I didn't mind watching it again. smiley ...I might be retroactively developing a crush on these guys as they were in the nineties. Weird.

Is it Show me the Meaning of Being Lonely?

The only other one I can think of with bad special effects is Larger Than Life

@zombietaggerung I checked those out and they don't seem to fit. Thanks though.

I've watched a bunch of these a few times now, and I keep coming back to this one:

It's got the outdoors, the daytime scenes, the high energy. It was thier first single. And that silver thing in the background in some shots might be what I remember as the swirling colors. Not sure though. It's a pretty crazy how unreliable memory can be.

Conversly, anyone still trying to sleep after 7:00AM is inconsiderate of poor yard workers.devil

Around here people seem fine with having their landscaping people come to do work at 7 AM on a Sunday... WTF is wrong with you that that's okay?
Maybe it's okay with the person who hired them, but maybe it's not okay with everyone else?... Secondly what shady cheap ass contractor is so hard pressed for work they gotta show up at 7AM on a Sunday?
My guess is someone for whom this isn't their primary line of work, that what one guy explained to a friend who wasn't okay with an early Saturday appointment... the guy was like "well I only do this on weekends..." yes, so that's everyone else's problem I guess...

I more or less got the same response from a tree removal guy a few years ago... so like you dabble in tree removal?... yeah, that's the kinda dedication and safety I'm looking for... But after the last few storms the past couple of years, I think anyone with a chainsaw thinks they are a qualified lumberjack now... you should see some of the insane things I've seen these guys doing... it just gives you chills because you can almost feel the injuries before they happen.

Non-complaint:  Music to DAZ by.  Meditative, musing, drifting, wonderment.  The "Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis" by Ralph Vaughan Williams [pronounced rafe vawn williams.  An unhyphenated hyphenated last name].  Eighteen minutes.  One of his better known works.  Others would be "Fantasia on Greensleeves" and "The Lark Ascending".  All in a similar mood.  Check 'em out.

Ralph Vaughan Williams:  Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ralph_Vaughan_Williams ;  Also, here's a very interesting article about the composer https://www.sfsymphony.org/Discover-the-Music/Articles-Interviews/Articles/The-Vaughan-Williams-Brand

"Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis" (It's very very quiet at the beginning.  Statement of the theme begins at 1:40)

    "Fantasia on Greensleeves"

    "The Lark Ascending"

I want to take a shower but the pants I want to wear are in the dryer as they aren't fully dry.

For my story multiverse, I created a sport I'm going to call it football. I'm posting a picture of me in a random shirt I found online. It looks like a sports jersey so I'm pretending it is a football jersey.

You shouldn't really shower with your pants on... the pants get clean, but it sorta makes it hard for you to get clean... also, won't the pants just get wet again if you shower with them on?... so they don't really need to be fully dry.

I figured that out all on my own... I'm a good figurerouter... or I'm good at figerouting

No, but I don't wear wet pants after a shower.

Realistically, that's a secondary concern... it's going out of the way to dry the pants, to then wet them again... theoretically, if one were to shower fully clothed, you'd figure the pants would be dry to begin with... but that's still better than climbing into the dryer with them on because they are wet.

Ok, I just thought if wearing clothes to the shower was something people do in the "big world" because that is what they do when they come here and we invite them to the sauna

Non-complaint:  The continuing saga of the unwanted motherboard.  Wheee... I've assembled a test setup on my workbench.  No case yet, but I'm just verifying that all the electronics work OK laying naked on my workbench (the electronics, not me).  It does!  Yay!smiley

I've installed an M.2 NVMe  250GB Samsung SSD 980 as the principal storage device.  I was even able to get my hand-me-down RAM to function at 2666MHz like it was designed to do.   It still remains to be seen if the RAM is stable at that speed.  I've begun an installation of Windows10-Pro and so far no issues with the software boogering out, or system crashes.  Fingers still crossed.

The CPU that I chose (Ryzen 5 1400) has no on-chip graphics so I had to rummage around and find an old MSI 730 graphics card.  I've currently got it feeding an old low resolution squarish monitor with a VGA cable but it's working.  My workbench is cluttered with wires and naked electronics and manuals, and packing material and tools.  Sniff, it's so beautiful.crying

My dad was a snorer.  I don't know how my mother put up with it.
