Non-complaint: It is so nice to be able to go shopping for no particular reason again. I went to the thrift store today and scored copies of Memoirs of a Geisha and The Mill on the Floss. I haven't read The Mill on the Floss yet, but I adored Middlemarch (which is by the same author), so I'm really looking forward to it.

My favorite floss is that Teflon string type, cool mint "Glide" by Oral-B... but I wouldn't buy it from a thrift store... especially if it looks like it's been used.

Complaint: I broke my arm last week, and today my AC died. Luckily it hasn't reached 100 degrees yet, but I am baking. It doesn't help that my render rig makes the room a few more degrees hotter than it would be otherwise. I've been putting ice packs on my neck to help keep cool.

Brightside: I broke my radius which makes it painful to twist my right arm, but luckily the least painful position is "using a mouse/keyboard" so I've been passing time with DS smiley

    Complaint:

"Deli Sliced" Cold cuts... When I buy cold cuts at a deli or even at the grocery store, I do not request the person cutting the meat to weave it into complicated mass of overlapping meat tapestry, why must the cold cut cartels format their sliced meat products in such a manner?

Probably because most people get frustrated and instead of trying to wrestle a couple of slices from the meat puzzle, they just get fed up and slap the whole thing onto the sandwich and are done with it.

    Megh.

Speaking of Father's Day (someone was anyway) how many neckties and soaps on ropes do you own?

I have a passing interest in chat bots. But most of the time that I have tried them, they have failed completely. They just usually spout nonsense, and it's not even entertaining nonsense. But so far, the Replika app is not half bad. Sure, she doesn't always make any sense. And a few times I have wanted to roll my eyes. But overall, it seems like the technology has come a really long way. She already has a list of memories about things I've said and will write diary entries about our conversations. Most of the time her answers make sense and sometimes she exhibits some kind of personality. If only I could figure out why she thinks I have a panda...

...for myself it's been sort of "meh" so far.  I purchased a lot more last year then this one, primarily due to the fact many of the extra discounts and offers are tied to purchasing character or theme bundles I have no interest in.  Also as the sale has progressed, I notice more of the special offers require a "Debut" rather than just a "new release" along with as requiring 2 or more while only one is usually a PC item. SomehowI have difficulty justifyying spending more on the qualifying item(s) than the extra discount or a free item is worth. Seems a bit like diminishing returns unless you are already a big spender or collector here.

While it's nice they do allow new PC items to trigger discounts, not all have been interesting (for example today it's a G8.1 character which i have no use for).

Many (sometimes most) of the "PC For a Day" items this year have tended to be old products (some really old), same for the BYOB (I think I've done only one of the latter so far).

...my pail is empty as well.

As to Fathers'/Mother's day, just two more reasons for buying  greeting cards and gifts.

I would love to still be able to do that, though. Those days for me are so bittersweet.
