Non-complaint:  Wheee... It's "Prime Day".smiley  Deals at Amazon for 48 hours.  Usually there's nothing in the sale that I need despite various amounts of savings.  However, this year I'm in the market for a new Amazon Firestick streaming device.  The old one's buttons are wearing out (it's all that menu clicking and desperate browsing for something worth watching).frown  Normal price is $40, but during Prime Day it's listed as $22.99, but I somehow managed to submit my cart during a "Lightning Deal" and got it for $14.03.surprisesmiley   Wheee...yes

  • I'm back! Was locked out of the forums for a while. Kept getting an error when I tried to view them. My main account still isn't working, but this old one is at least. This is the first account I ever had with Daz. Had to get it recovered after I lost access to my gmail account a few years back. I didn't realize it at the time, but I had actually made a second account and was making purchases there, but got my old acocunt recovered to this email, which is different. Anyway, I missed you guys! Hope all is well.

...be glad you don't have the temperatures we have here. Already 93° in the 'hood, and we have about three and a half hours until the warmest part of the day.

Humidity here is 31% but still feels a bit "sticky".

Weekend's going to be scorching, now both Saturday and Sunday it will be above 100°.(and we're not even to mid July yet).

I went out yesterday and came across these guys... they look sorta familiar...

None of the street signs were very helpful...

And on top of that somebody left these laying around...

I followed these guys, and eventually I found my way back...

...same here and I had to settle for over produced burritos to put in teh MW so I wouldn't heat the flat up cooking.

The high here today was 96°. For both Saturday and Sunday they are now forecasting a high of 105° on both days and 106° on Monday.  The all time record high for Portland since records were kept is 107°.  The scary part, it is only June.

The cafeteria at my workplace charged me $7 USD for a cheeseburger. They referred to it as a "cheeseburger meal". But it was just a cheeseburger. It was of the quality one might expect from a vending machine. I'm going to bed.

...so much for the big Amazon Prime Sale.  The dual in-window fan I was looking at getting actually went up in price instead of down. It also had reversable motors so it can be used to blow hot stagnant air out. .Definitely could use it this weekend, but not at the higher price.  A traditional box fan won't work because of the type of windows my place has.

Speaking of overpriced food, my local Jack in the Box is charging $4 for a medium order of curly fries.  And the coffee stand across from my house? They charge 50 cents for using a debit card regardless of how expensive your drink is. Most people don't even carry cash. On top of that, they are just absurdly pricey. I don't want to pay $8 for a coffee. For $8, I could be day-drinking wine at the nearest martini bar. (It's a nice martini bar. They have a trendy name and new couches and everything.)

I try to cook less during the summer as well. I end up having a lot of salads and protien shakes. I was told that today was going to be the hottest day of the year. I wish I could believe that, but I just don't.

You're supposed to keep it out of your ears!indecision  But to be honest, I've never had a problem with tunnels in my ears while in Nebraska or Kansas.

I'm using an industrial blower, which draws colder air from a window on the eastern side of the house through a reinforced canvas ducting. Takes the temperature down from 29C to 26C (84F to 78F)

The regular fans had no effect exept causing air movement.
