Got my issue resolved and re installed 4.8 tried a quick basic UE render with 4 characters (same as in Lux *nudity * http://fav.me/d8v165b) renders under 7 minutes but I still prefer lux will try iray at some point I reckon...

Re installed ds 4.8 , the aoa advanced lights and atmosphere cameras and still the colourize camera doesn't seem to work. not tested the depth camera (though i guess i should have) but everything else seems to work fine.

AoA will probably have a thread where you could let him know. Maybe he's already aware of the issue and is planning an update?

Skin looks very nice, Rogerbee, but hair looks a bit strange, while one can see head's skin under it.

Yeah, the hair is a bit naff, I only loaded because it was different to the ones I tend to fall back to using. I need to buy some more, and LAMH.

Would using a skin cap help Anna's scalp problem?

That or better hair, which I aim to get in due course..

Time for a bit more input from me I think,

Here's a beefcake shot of M6. Shader (Radium SolidVaris from RT KIT) and lights by Mustakettu and the wall is from DM's Instances. Then we have Darius having a wander through West Park in an eerie shot I'd been wanting to do since I got West Park in a freebie bundle a few weeks back.

Hopefully RT Kit will be available to you all soon and I'll let you know when it's ready

Decided i wanted to use Vicky 3 for a change. also shucky's mech makes a return appearance.

(had to use the smaller sized pic so it would fit forum specs.bigger one in gallery here)

    Brilliant stuff there DB!

There's more to come from me, just testing stuff out right now. I still need more products before I'll be 100% happy with the output, but I'm getting there.

Great stuff as always, looking forward to this fast Lux. I still haven't tried out Luxus yet, but don't want to do any long haul work on this machine till I get the PSU sorted. It was restarting my PC after causing power surges, which I'm told by Corsair is a sign the unit is on the way out. It's been behaving itself since I've been intent on replacing it, but, to be on the safe side I still will.

Been doing some playing with Iray. This test was of an extremely simple scene. Actually composed of 2 planes, a sphere a set of lights and shaders selected from those in the mega supersuit bundle.
For those interested I DO NOT have an Invidia graphics card.
Although the scene itself is extremely simple it's a nasty job for a render engine.

    Looking good,

I've been having issues with my power supply in that it keeps restarting my PC due to power surges. The anti surge software tells me this is due to an unstable PSU, which means that it's on the way out. I contacted the manufacturer, Corsair, and they confirmed this. So, this week's purchase is a new PSU, namely the Fractal Design Edison 750M which is based upon a Seasonic. I've heard good things about it and it's at an affordable price too.

When your PC restarts mid render, and it's a clear day, you know something is up. I'm not doing another render till the other supply is in and running the show

thanks. i just wanted to play with the volume camera a bit more, I think i still need to practice with it,I probably could have varied the colour of the lights a bit.

I am happy though that the new version of studio renders a bit faster now.

Yeah, I'm happy with this build too. I'll be even happier when I have a PSU that won't die on me!

I had one PSU explode, the computer this worked when i picked up a new one so i figured no damage, i even looked every thing over.

Well there was a tiny little connector on the MB that must have been fried where the Power supply hooks up that i didn't notice.
After a while i thought i smelled something burning, looked down and the computer was on fire. well that was it for that computer after that.

    Ouch!

My Corsair was the best available that I could afford at the time. Even then there were rumblings and misgivings about them, but, most of the others were too cheap to contemplate or way too expensive. It's kept going for a reasonable time and only acts up when I've been running the CPU at high loads for a long time, which is what happens with some renders. The one I'm replacing it with is better, so fingers crossed. A 750w unit is supposed to be able to handle 2 GPU's crossfired so it should be able to handle one and a handful of fans. Even my CPU isn't the most powerful out there, but it does the job.

Someone wants to say a quick hello,

Namely G3F! Yes, that isn't a typo '3' is the magic number!! You now have G3F Starter Essentials in your product library! There is a big info page about G3 which you can get to via the shop. All I can say from the brief play that I've had with her is that she's a much better looking base figure than G2F was. There's not much morphing you can do yet, but, her mouth is HD already and there are propagating scale dials for her hands and feet. Either both at once or individually.

The Basicwear is included as is another version of Toulouse hair, however, I was able to autofit Nightfever Hair to her. Anyhow, here's a quick render using the Gia promo lights.

...apologies, but this is one lure this fish ain't going to bite. I cannot afford another whole generation of figures/characters as well as collection of plugins and morph/texture kits (let alone clothing and hair.) when I still have content and characters for the G2 on my wishlist.

I finally have my main characters to the point where I am satisfied with them. Not about to go back to square one all over again.

I'm not about to dive headlong into her yet either. G3F was downloadable and free so I thought I'd see what she looked like. I'll likely wait till G3M/M7 arrive and see if Kettu adjusts her shader to work with them.

The main buzz now is V7/G3F so it'll take for that do die down a bit before anything else is the talk of the town.

Everyone is running and screaming thinking that G2 is dead and they have to adopt G3 now or die. It's just not the case. I can wait and so can they.

Alot of my LOTG characters are 4th gen based I find using an unbiased render engine keeps them looking good. Anyhoo G3 renders perfect using lux out of the box no adjustments

    Yeah, that's good,

The textures are all organised differently. The ears are part of the head texture, as are the lacrimals which are part of the eye socket and the arms, legs and torso are separate too. Also, the tear is gone and the eye reflection is now the eye moisture. She looks good in close up too, the brows have definitely improved. It bodes well and I'll adopt her more when I have the money to.

    Pretty decent,

With the way the textures are organised, I don't think there will be any backwards compatibility with textures, but, we'll see if Slosh can come up with anything.
