    I am really enjoying:

    http://www.daz3d.com/wear-them-all-autofitting-clones-and-clothing-smoothers-for-genesis-3-female-s

Just put old Pretty3D clothes for V4 (Hi-Fashion Provocative) and FK-Twins V4 hair on Victoria 7,

and they work pretty well. Have changed materials on the jacket with Khory shaders,

because the original Poser ones does not look so good in DS.

Have not changed materials on pants, for comparison.

    Also used http://www.daz3d.com/hdr-prosets-monterey

DS 4.8 3Delight render. Rendering Time: 3 minutes 35 seconds

I haven't posted anything in here for awhile. It's a V4 with Reby Sky Elite Carrara textures that I've modified and adjusted to fake SSS. Postworked to add light bloom, DOF and caustic render pass. The outfit is a modified Eweyai, with a free chain mail Carrara shader from AoA.

No GI except the caustics render pass.

    Very nice,

I'm sort of in limbo with DS right now. I want to see if WINE in Linux can be fixed so it'll run 64bit DS, right now there's something tripping DS up and we're not sure what it is. I'm hoping that, before long, something will be done whereby it will work and I can finally switch from Windows to Linux Mint. I want to go the whole hog and not faff about with virtual machines or dual booting.

It's a case of wait and see now....

Another one with the same modified Eweyai outfit as my last render, but on an A4 with the same fake SSS Reby Sky texture, but with a color multiplier in the Color Channel to make the skin look a bit more oriental.

The hands for M4 and A4 were kept in place using target helpers and IK tracking while I worked on the rest of the poses

I rendered two versions. One with caustics and a caustic render pass, and the other without caustics. I composited the caustics pass with the non-caustics render for a more subtle effect. For the non-caustics render, I rendered a depth pass (for dof), a volume primitive pass (to get the dynamic hair on its own layer and composited with the depth pass), specular pass, reflection pass, glow pass, refraction pass, etc. I used the later passes to enhance the various effects and blurred them slightly to give a softer look to the various effects.

As the G3F morphs and the new musculature were 50% off I decided to take the plunge. I'm no anatomist, but, I really like the results. These renders are with sub-d at 4 and the Flex Control at 20%. I'm impressed!

Here's a few more bend and stretch moments from G3F, I can't fault her. The musculature morphs have made all the difference. Put these with V7 and some HD and we'll really see something.

Here's another G3F, but with the overall muscle tone dialled up to 10%. I really, really like the way she bends. Bear in mind that this is still the bog standard G3F, I can't wait to see what V7 and her HD pack will be like on top of this. Even with the SubD at 4, renders take under 3 mins.

    More G3F,

This time she's sporting a very nice panel dress by Cybrea at ShareCG and my all time favourite hair from way back, Helios Hair for V4. It parents nicely to her head and all you need to adjust is the scale.

    Very nice, 3Delight or Iray?

  • Thanks :)

Iray - the background I dropped in with Photoshop.

Cool! I don't really have the hardware for Iray myself, but I can see its merits when used properly.

Yes, I need to invest in a GPU soon.

That was all done on CPU (6 cores) and took 40 minutes. I think it must be the clothes adding to the time.

40 mins is not that bad, I too have a 6 core CPU. Mmmm, maybe I'll give it a go someday.

  • Yes 40 minutes is not too bad. Thanks to the good help here I found I could turn of a core and still use my PC. I always have a hundred things on my backburners !

I did this one too, I think I prefer the background I found for this one.

I like the render allot but I LOVE that background.  Is that from a background pack and if so what's the pack name and where did you get it from?

Not sure about turning off a core. However, the results I've been seeing recently do make me want to try Iray. Maybe when I get V7 and her HD pack we'll see....

I turn cores off all the time. I don't have a Nvidia card so Iray only runs on the CPU in the Laptop, an i5 with four cores. I will turn off one if I can't use the browser or whatever I am doing stalls. I have even turned two off and loaded another DAZ Studio or Bryce to work on other scenes while the first one is rendering in the background and set those to run on the two free cores smiley The 16 GB of memory gets maxed out quite often too laugh

I've got 32gb of RAM and 6 cores but will leave the computer alone if I was doing an Iray render.

Still lots to learn specially on setting materials. Having the reality experience helps. Like I said with the iray draw to be able to see results in real time is really cool. I may be putting a a 4G GTX 970 in my tower replacing the AMD fire pro if it pans out. Kinda OT I upgraded my 3 machines to 10 the only issue I had was I had to remove the AMD drivers on the older i7 laptop they were causing it to take eons to start & wake up. I run it on the intel card. Since I only use it to surf and watch files on my 65" plasma it does not matter...

I still might try Iray, I'll get V7 and her HD pack and maybe, just maybe, if I don't get anything useful out of 3Delight (G3F is good though.), I might try it, we'll see........

I'm still switching to Linux if DS can work with WINE and will stick with 7 till it does. Blender does work with Linux so I could import stuff into it, though I might have to dual boot to do that....

Not bad, but, don't fall into the trap of CGI in a photo environment. DS, even with Iray, just can't break the uncanny valley. You're best off doing what you have been with Lux and that's CGI in a CGI environment.

I left G3F alone with some roids...
