Nope! I don't see that lava horse!
Dana
true, it is kinda burnt out. Wonder how to fix that?
Honest to God, I will stop using Instagram if it's going to automatically play audio with no apparent ability to turn it off.
..sales complaint
Having a real time (and not a good one) with this current Stack up Sale. It seems to keep changing subtracting a "day" or two from the total (others are having this happen too). I was at "Day 7" on Monday then yesterday found it said I was on day 5. I didn't make an new purchases Tuesday or Wednesday as nothing being offered really interested me, so wondering that if you don't buy anything you get docked a day's discount. There is nothing in the description that indicates this and no one from Daz has chimed in on the Sales thread to tell us what is going on or mention that they would talk to sales management leaving those like myself in the dark on this.
Early Thursday morning (about 01:00 local time, which is 02:00 Daz time) I made a purchase that set my discount back to day 6, However when the store "rolled over" at 24:00 the banner now says I'm back on day 5. I put and item in the cart from the closeout sale to as a test to see what my status there it said I was on "Day 6". So between the sale page and my cart there is already a discrepancy.
Apparently some real Daz voodoo malarkey is going on here and nobody seems to have a clue as to what's happening (or cares to tell us).
The main text says "
And earn an additional 2% OFF* per day with each daily purchase you make in a 7-day period After a 7-day streak, you could earn an EXTRA 14% OFF* your cart!" and the foot note adds "*Maximum of one eligible purchase per day of $1 or more." So yes, it does say that it counts each day you made a puchase out of the last seven and muliplies by 2 to get the disscount percentage.
I am thinking referring Mr. Haseltine to Daz3D won't get me my $5 reward?
...it doesn't specifically state that you have to keep buying something each and every day to maintain your "day level" or that you would lose "days" for not making a purchase afterwards. Again I was on "Day 7" after Monday so it should have remained at that status until the end of the month as that is how it reads.
Also mentioned this on the Sales thread and Richard urged me to submit a support ticket which I did.
Yes it does, it says you get 2% off for each of the last seven days on which you have purchased. A day later one of the previous seven will now be eight days ago and so not count.
True, it says a seven day period rather than specifying which - though I do think it is reasonable to regard thata s meaning the immediately preceeding week.
Although the DAZ promo pictures are meant to sell items, sometimes they make me not buy items. And it's not due to bad pictures. It's due to pictures so good that I probably couldn't reproduce anything as good myself. They make me want the products initially, but then I realize I'd be better off just saving a copy of the promo picture. Because that's the result I wanted anyway, and I wouldn't get that result by buying the product.
...but then why tonight before, 23:59 MDT do I now see the day status back down to 5 after I made a purchase Thursday night which set it to Day 6 earlier today? Something here is really messed up.. On the last such sale this didn't happen.
The ticket I submitted earlier won't be addressed until next week which will be too late. Others are having the same thing happen to them. Again I was on "Day 7" after Monday so that is where it should have remained regardless if whether a new purchase was made once the Day 7 discount was reached. It is as if we are being penalised for not buying anything if we missed a day.. It should have been explicitly mentioned in the sale description that we had to keep making a purchases every day (even after the 14% discount was already achieved ) until the 31st.
I just purchased what was in the cart a few minutes ago and yes it now again says "Day 6" Like it did after my Thursday evening order, but with how this has been going are going I am half expecting it to see the status back down to to Day 5 again after 00:00 "Daz Time" tonight. I should not have lost a day of discount today or any days once I reached Day 7.
The conditions for this were poorly worded. No days should have been subtracted.
...+1
There seems to be an issue with the timing of end-of-day, as if it is using UTC (MST + 6, so midnight is 18:00 MST).
Ah ha! Time zone issues again.
HEY KIDS, WHAT TIME IS IT?
...OK that explains it, definitely a glitch on the Daz end as it should be UTC - 6 for Utah (UTC-7 for the Pacific Time Zone).
So I should actually be on "Day 7" today as I made a purchase before turning in (around 02:00 local time this morning which is 03:00 MDT).instead of letting the items I had in the cart sit until later in the day as I didn't know if the same would happen again.. Unfortunately submitting another sales ticket is pretty moot as it takes 3 - 5 business days for it to be acted on and it's a weekend right now.
Complaint: DHL delivery service. They're late! My PoppaBear computer has been sitting on my lab bench naked and open to the world for too many days now. After confirming that my RGB lighting problem was true (one of two ARGB headers on the motherboard is boogered and only produces an unmodifiable green output), I took advantage of the open case situation (he's heavy and very connected, and it requires much effort to extract him from his place under the bench) and ordered an M.2 WiFi module for the motherboard and also a pair of 140mm fans to replace the existing 120mm ones. The case is designed for 140mm fans. The front fans visible through the front mesh are the only RGB lighting that shows in this windowless machine, and the case is rather wide, making the 120mm fans look slightly off center and undersized. The new, ARGB, 140mm fans arrived a couple days ago and have been installed. They now look absolutely balanced and colorfully delightful. Yay! And the bigger fans now would seem to be able to move more air into the lower section of the motherboard area providing more fresh air to the GPU intakes. However, the M.2 WiFi module which was supposed to arrive yesterday is still stuck in Ohio somewhere.
And of course, installing the new fans was stupidly done AFTER I had carefully cable managed the system. So, I had to clip all those cable ties, extract wires, re-wire, re-cablemanage... Wheee... nerd fun!
Complaint: Nerd fun over for now. Bummer! I gave up on waiting for my M.2 WiFi module. I closed up PoppaBear and hefted him back to his place under the lab bench, reconnected the jungle of cables, and he's fat, smart and happy again. Yay! When the WiFi module comes I'll just set it aside for some nerd fun on a rainy day. Installation requires removing the big graphics card again because the special WiFi M.2 socket is directly under the graphics card.
Non-complaint: A couple weeks ago I switched streaming subscription for my TV from "Paramount+" to "Disney+" and I finally got to see what all the fuss was about over "The Mandalorian". I am impressed by the story, the acting, the sets, the costumes, the special effects and the various alien critters. Well done! I followed it up with "The Book of Boba Fett", and was almost equally impressed. Now I'm watching "Obi-Wan Kenobe" and it too is in the same vein. I'm not really a "Star Wars" fan but, I know enough of the story arc that it's kind of nice to fill in the missing time periods.
DHL? The Denver Hockey League? Yeah, they're notoriously slow with deliveries.
To paraphrase from "A Child's Christmas in Wales" - "and a book that told you everything about PC ARGB -- except WHY"
"Why" is an attractive slippery slope. Satisfaction is fleeting.
...so OK made a purchase just a few minutes ago with almost two hours left before the end of the "Daz day". The discount "progress meter" is still on "Day 6". Hoping this will change to Day 7 (where it should have been today were it not for that time zone glitch mentioned earlier). at 00:00 Daz time tonight.
2% or 4% may not sound like much to many but when you are on a tight budget, any extra savings is meaningful and can be the difference in a sale or "no sale".
ETA:
So I waited for the day to change over after the purchase I made Saturday about two hours before the 00:00 MDT) After doing a few other things I then checked the sale page a few minutes ago (as sometimes it takes 30 min to even an hour for the store to completely "reset" to the new day) and it still indicates I'm only on "Day 6" when the purchase I made on Saturday should have put me back on "Day 7" So, something is definite broken here and apparently won't be fixed as today (Sunday) is the final day of the promotion.
The next time Daz does something like this, they need to clarify all the details involved to avoid the confusion this "flaky" day/discount status created. If people have to keep purchasing something each day, even after reaching the maximum discount level so as not to "lose" days already banked up, that needs to be stated so in the description so as not leave people in the dark as to what the heck's going on. I am not the only one who ran into this situation, brought it up on the main Sales Thread here. and submitted a ticket on it.
If on the other hand, this is due to errors in the store software (and one was found relating to time zone calculation as Richard pointed out further above which inadvertently docked me another day on Friday) that needs to be hunted down, fixed, and thoroughly tested before another such promotion is launched.
This could have been a lot simpler gone a lot smoother than it has.
Perhaps, everything in DAZland is running so well and boringly uneventful that marketing invents these wonky sales to generate some interesting chaos?
pardon me while I go learn how to draw again. Then I'm going to adjust the lights in my Daz 3D scene. Skin looks odd. Maybe I should enable sub surface scattering.
I am making cake and cupcakes. I only have two six count cupcake pans but the mix says it is good for 24 cupcakes. I made a dozen cupcakes and put the rest in a round pan. I didn't feel like it was enough for the pan so I took my jiffy yellow cake mix and mixed it up and added it to the chocolate cake mix. Hopefully it will be a good idea?
Well, a simpler idea woul have been to put the excess in the refridgerator while the first batch bakes. Then use it bake a second batch with the same pans
