Thank you for all your concerns.  I'm waiting for some antibiotics pal cream to come in sometime today, hopefully.  I woke up to rain.

I also woke up to see my apartment mate was up to some shenanigans such as removing the shower curtain and bath mats from the bathroom to dismantling my water filter.  I can't wait to move out on Monday.

Well my roof is leaking ...... got up this morning and there is water on my computer table ,not alot ,didn't get into anything or damage anything ,cleaned it up ,and a couple of hours later I hear dripping again ,and there is 3 spots just dripping ,so potted plant went under 1 and I put a towel down to catch the others ........ so gonna need to get that fixed again ....... such is life ,on the plus side I don't live in a flood zone

...hopefully it will be to your own place that is shared with nobody else.

BTW hope you have power as even North Crolina has been affected by Ian.

Complaint: All year I have looked forward to the DAZ+ Anniversary sale and now it is off to a terrible start with prices increasing all day. Plus it is going to be shorter than usual.

And I don't have any funds to renew Daz+ membership or buy anything.

But technically you are saving money that way... I think it's the same theory where restaurants are looking out for your health by shrinking the portions and charging more.

@LeatherGryphon  instead of Kleenex I wear a roll of cheap toilet paper with a rope through the middle like a necklace.  Easy to use as little or much as needed!

My power didn't go out but my sweetheart's power went out for a few hours or so.  It seems that I won't know anything about my new place until tomorrow when I hopefully move there.

Hmm, his last site activity was 7 September. I hope he is OK. He did, however, say that he wouldn't be posting anymore:

Oh, I forgot about that.  It was so long ago.  Still, sad.

The move got delayed again.  Hopefully sometime this week.  My apartment is cold, but my apartment mate keeps turning off the heater.  It is cold outside.

Get yourself a USB hub that directly connects to your PCI slot!  I myself have 10 external HDDs!

Yesterday I got some Wendy's delivery.  The order was messed up, so I went to that Wendy's with my receipt.  They replaced the whole order.  The order was a chicken BLT Biggie meal.  I requested no tomato, but the sandwich I got had just lettuce and honey mustard sauce.  No cheese or that little piece of bacon.  Also the fries were cold.

I am at that Wendy's now.  They replaced the whole meal including the drink and nuggets.  I forgot to get napkins before sitting down.  One of the people who worked came up to me and asked how my food was.  She also got me some napkins.

Oh, what ever was wrong with my webhosting seems to be better now.  that website is back up and waiting for me to work on it.

...complaint, wondering if there was  a sickout at the Safeway I shop at down the street. It was a busy day but only one check stand was open and the line to it went deep into one of the food aisles, many people with full trolleys of goods in the queue.  The line for self check (which I don't like to use as it always screams  I'm doing something wrong and it's screwed me on coupons before) was even longer.  Took  around 20 min until they finally opened a second lane, just as I got up to the one I was waiting for.

Was wondering if I was in Portland or Petrozavodsk.

I've been running a test render for over 44 hours. It started off around 10 minutes per frame, but since ballooned to around 2.5 hours per frame. I really need to be smarter about test renders, since that's a lot of time and computing power going to something that I'm definitely not going to keep.

It's Yom Kippur, so some folks may have taken the day off... or the West Coast Safeway Strangler may have gotten them... probably Yom Kippur though, as I just made up the West Coast Safeway Strangler... it could a thing though... the strangler, not the Jewish holiday... that I'm pretty sure is real... Unless I transposed El Malagueña, the made-up Spanish-Jewish holiday mentioned in Biloxi Blues.

44 Hours... that was like an average render time when I first started using Bryce in the late 90s/early 00s.

Well, that problem resolved itself when a breaker tripped, disconnecting the NAS on which my assets are stored and causing C4D to freeze up.

In the latter, the queue would have been outside the door and if one did find something to buy, the total sum would have been tallied with an abacus...

I got a booster shot today at cvs.  It was free.  I hope I don't look too crazy moving around the arm I got shot.

Same (not that time period), which is why I abandoned Bryce. I first used Bryce in 04 I think when I first came to Daz. Over the years I've definitely invested into much bigger and more powerful computers. Between me and the wife we are buying new computers every year. Her one year, me the next and so on. Then we just decided would be smarter to max out a system and use it for 5 yrs and do minor updates to them and then replace them. We have been very fortunate to never have a computer go bad, just not able to update anymore. We then pass those systems off to friends and family. The two places we use to build are systems have been great. The local shop that built my wife's computer several years ago went out of business and his systems have been the best to date. Shame I won't be able to get one from him. ATM I'm fighting with the wife's computer to get a secondary drive put in without the system BSODing. If I'm in Safe Mode I can access it, format it, partition it etc. As soon as I start-up Windows normally I get a BSOD. I still need to try and recover the files on the drive that went bad that this is replacing.

It was only five frames away from completion, and it was just a test render anyway, so no real loss. I'll be able to get the information I need out of it.

Booster shots are no joke.  Why did I take one the day before I move?
