sort of benchmark to show up the biased engine potential

maybe a bit annoying for you but pure fun for me cheeky  each image caption says it all: render engine and render time in the form of m/ss

two flavors for carrara: one with sky only, the other with realistic sky + color sky, on my display arion and carrara RS surprise achieve the best realism

apart from carrara all the others have been using cpu+gpu cores, nevertheless iray has proved to be very slow

Stezza, very prolific.  Can't help but notice the similarity between the squirrel in egg image and the supreme ruler in bomb image.  Something to do with the nuts.

Here is something I've been working on.  For fans of classic scifi.

Nice, Diomede!  Silent Running created by Doug Trumbull.  I saw it in the theatre when it was first released.  Interesting score by Peter Schickele as well.

Correct!  Bruce Dern played some great crazy guys.  I am going to have a chance to have a visit with an old buddy later this summer.  We are makiing a list of 70s scifi that we are supposed to try to see again before we catch up.  Logan's Run, Silent Running, Soylent Green, etc.  Suggestions welcome.

Thanks for the 70s scifi links, Bunyip.  I didn't realize that the pilots for some TV shows were released in theaters first (Battlestar Galactica and Buck Rogers).

Fantastic, you guys! So cool! ;)

Here's a quick look at more of Rosie 4's wardrobe from the collection. I've collected a lot of attire for her over the years, so nowadays when I get a chance to play on Carrara, one of my projects is to load in some of my new content, opimize it, and store it as CAR files in my browser. Another project is to go back and load in some of my hero's collected attire and try it out, save it so I have it for various scenes where needed.

The Baja Bug is Dartan's and the Madness Muscle Car is Rosie's. Kind of a twist on what might normally be expected ;)

This is a rather inefficient scene since it's all geometry and volumetric effects. We're lucky that Carrara lets us do this so easily.

Yes, I think it's like the same as the Basic Ambient, except that the color is controlled entirely by the Sky settings.

Nepal, eh? I'll have to check that out. I like your scene there and I also really like eveything I've bought from Merlin. Nice, complete and efficient stuff!

These are both Merlin's Saxon Village inside the Woodlands Base, with a bunch of Woodlands extras added - also Winnston1984's Waverunner triple-mast tall ship in the distant waters. I'll be using this (Saxon Village) quite a bit in my movies. I've done a lot of tests in it - even inside the buildings are awesome! Which reminds me... I want more Merlin stuff!

For this particular village (I use the set as different villages throughout the land) I've used several instances of this tower and other elements. Here, the tower is up on a very tall cliff, looking down over and past the village, which is actually much larger than it looks from here.

Inside the village gates, I'm using the muddy ground that comes with the set. It has awesome paths made of twigs - just like the real thing... Fantastic!
