Actually the majority of countries in the world use comma: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decimal_separator
I wish everyone would agree on the same standards in everything - would make a lot of things easier. In most contexts there's always a standard which is the most logical and convenient. In programming for example, the DateTime libraries are huge and can be extremely complex to work with because of the many local standards. The generally recommended ISO standard 2019-08-21 23:25:02 is the most logical and extremely simple to program, and yet it isn't used much. Just look at this forum which uses the worst standard of them all: AM/PM which can be extremely confusing to people who don't understand its weird logic (e.g. 03:15 AM comes after 12:30 AM).
I guess it all boils down to "old habits die hard even though they make life harder for everyone".
Shouldn't the year be 7531 though? we ought to use the oldest (known) calendar as the starting point and go from there. We could maybe start a new Age every 5000 years and say it is 2531 of the 2nd age. We could write it as 02-2531-08-21... Wait a second. That's an anagram of my old cell phone number!!!
My dog just got beaten up by the neighbour's cat, now he's hot and red and complaining
Some electricians are working on the house wires. I think the wires are old or loose. I might loose internet access too if they work on the curcuit breaker.
update: the electricians couldn't fix the problem today. Hopefully they will return another date to replace the wires in the first floor? The electricians think rats might have chewed the wires.
didnt make it to work today. think has heat exhaustion.

nice to know the forum isnt here to generate the sale of a product
yeah, but with over 30,000 posts she is still going to have trouble finding a particular post. It is not really a user friendly data base if you have that number of posts. It is in date order and that is the only way you can search. newest posts are at the top,
That's terrible, concidering deleting all my posts now
That's what bureau of standards organizations do. But have you ever encountered one of those "standards" that wasn't somehow "adjusted" by some group or another for some seemingly logical reason or other? What it actually comes down to is the bottom line for somebody. About 60 years ago I remember the announcement in school that the US was going to be switching to the Metric system. Yay! Yet here we are, pounding, quarting, farenheiting and inching our way into the future. Still saddled with the burden of having to deal with both systems. Heaven forbid that England would ever make the decision to drive on the right, politicians would compromise it into something fair and balanced like; every other intersection switches sides.
No, but it sounded like a recent post and they are at the top, at least.
BTW, shouldn't be much work to create an app or browser plugin that can search those pages.
Well it's only you who can see these pages I suppose.
No, it's not. Everyone can read them without even being logged in. So, uh... don't say anything here you can't stand by in the future?
it was recent. expression set came out with the Gabby8 stuff. all the promos are gabby.
already delled it from my w/l i'll forget it existed by tomorrow lol
Yeah but how do you know you won't change your mind. This will be my last post ever, anywhere.
...just changed my mind
Gotta ask ..... Why is that terrible ?
Well in that case you should be able to search those pages only with a search engine, excluding a lot of noise.

Web based e-mail service is down. cannot find IP address. I need to access the e-mail site to retrive my login code for two online stores (two factor authentication). I'm going to switch providers soon.
You missed a zero after the dot...which in the U.S. would be a comma. An easy thing to overlook.

I doubt that is the database's fault. It goes to the programmer(s) who wrote the code for the forum. It's easy enough to add an index to a column in a database, then querying on that column's data is fast. Even on large text columns, like the one that holds the body of the posts. There a thing called Full Text Index. At least, in a good database. 30K records is not a large database. 30 million records, yes.

...no red hot doggies here, but the "street vendor tacos" I just made were very tasty.
Gold star for you! Really, truly; well done!
Work the 5 days on finding work, rather than the 2 days. You'll improve your odds of success by 150% and then you can take the 2 days off with a clear conscience when nobody's gonna answer their mail anyway.
On a percentage basis, the solar system is emptier than your head. So no matter how bad of a day you're having, you can still rest easy knowing that it can't be worse!
Be careful doing that. Some people have actually ruptured a disk doing this. Or a vein. Ballroom dancing is far safer. And hotter!
Okay, please tell me your backups ran as they were supposed to and you have it.
Hollywood ruins everything if you let them keep something long enough. Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Friends. X Files. Harry Potter (the last three). Batman Begins, Returns, Runs away and hides, then tries to kill Superman. Avatar:The Last Airbender (the movie). Ghost Busters. The Mask 2. And the MCU. And don't get me started on the lame James Bond flick with the house in the highlands.
It's the way of things. But there are people making interesting Star Trek short stories in their kitchens with blue-screens. More of that please! They may not have grandiose budgets for special effects, but I think they're telling more interesting stories than Hollywood is. I mean really, Spongebob...in a movie?
Stay out of debt!
Some people post only one word. Others take their time to make a point. I prefer the latter. But people should use paragraphs, commas, and periods. Oxford comma for the win! I vote for readability!
Oooh, I should have said THAT!
Cats can kill dogs. Dogs don't know!
I changed my mind about dinner tonight. Before I had it, not after. So that's pretty good!
You didn't know that? It's been about the gypsy Welsh witch since Stevie Nicks first donned a shawl and way before Lindsey Buckingham ever wore a pajama top in a live concert!
Pro Tip: There's a great Fleetwood Mac concert "The Dance" available on Amazon Prime. The album is very good (and has better audio quality), but the concert video is also out there and was a lot of fun to watch, even though it's old and the video quality isn't really the best.
Database indexes make READS faster, but they can greatly slow down updates and deletes, particularly when there are a lot of columns in the index or if there are a lot of indexes on a lot of tables that are related to each other. That's because an update must update the data rows as well as all the related rows/columns in all of the indexes. A delete will have the effect of deleting not only the rows in the base table, but also any matching rows in each of the indexes. Both updates and deletes are logged so that a failure can be rolled back. All of this can take a lot more time.
In some DBMSs, the indexes are separate from the data. In others, the indexes reside in the same physical file(s) as the base tables. There's a think called a "clustering index" that uses the same columns (not a copy of the columns) from the data table that they map. A clustering index is always in the same order as the data table upon which it is based.
web email service works now. I guess the domain name server was having issues with the website's IP address. time for bed
I didn't miss it, I ignored it (extraneous fractional information). I could have ignored the other two too. (Ohhh, look! I made a two-too twain. *)
