  • Chef's kiss to day's wishlist sale, wow.

Oh how I wish I'd bought another GC yesterday - I could have cleaned up today!

  • I bought a gift card yesterday for the first time ever, and also doubled my wishlist lately.

  • I like this thread because I can tell from the reactions of users if something is a good sale or not! And also it helps explain the complicated sales. Thank you! smiley

It's a VERY good sale today, imho yes

  • The wishlist sales are always useless to me (because I don't keep a wishlist; I bookmark items in my browser instead), but I'm pleased to announce that the 10% and 20% discount for >1 and >2 new items, and the $5 on the two Absolute loss-leader items with another new-item purchase, DO stack together. (Which is good because I'd have paid a lot for Monster Maker if it had been G8, but it's not worth much more than four bucks to me for G9. With tokens applied on top of the stacked discount I ended up paying $2.40.)

I was looking at Caleela hair on Sunday as it would have been perfect for a scene I'm working on, but got only the token discount, yesterday I managed to get it down to 50% off, but now it's 76 cents at 97% off in my cart smiley

I changed my strategy with the wishlist after they had the first wishlist discount, now I throw everything in there which I might buy if the price was low enough, just in case of days like this.
Even on normal days, it helps in narrowing down multi-thousand item lists to items I might be interested in.

  • Today's sale really helped me out so much. There were a few items I needed for a project I'm doing and they are all there between the two different wishlist sales. Super happy today.

  • Well, that gift card isn't going to go as far as I'd hoped, but I sure knocked a lot of stuff off my wishlist.

Ok, now just have to wait until morning (midnight in 10 minutes here) before pulling the trigger... 32 items for $40.07 at 93% off (Subtotal $608), including 2 ‘HDRI’ New Releases and 3 ‘Magical’ New Releases

Just in case someone misses it: according to the new banner on the main page, Daz Tokens are going away.

Yeah, that figures.  Eliminate Tokens right before Black Friday so that the deals will be even worse than the ones in their dissapointing Pre-Black Friday promotion.  DAZ has been doing their best to walk my business as of late and Tokens were one of the main things keeping me buying on a regular basis, so I suspect this may ultimately hurt DAZ worse than me if I'm at all typical.

Good riddance. One less variable to consider in those forever confounding sales calculations.

My hope is that removal of the tokens means the deals will actually be better, because they won't have to factor in that some users have 8 tokens, and maybe it will also mean that PA will be willing to discount chosen products more. I can imagine that tokens had to be somewhat frustrating to them if their new release sold with 40% extra discount on top of the regular 30% discount.

I have to admit that tokens are a major contributing factor to my insane spending since their introduction. I've basically compressed years of stuff-acquiring into a few months; got great deals on a lot of products, but I was already starting to run out of things I need or even reasonably want. I was going to buy less anyway, but I can pretty well promise that this will significantly affect my buying.

To be fair, it's about time that I start spending more time using stuff than shopping for it.

  • I guess they got tired of people spending $120+ per week to maintain a constant 8-token discount.

Do we have to go through all 40,000 items to see if we recognize anything on our wishlist?  Maybe it would be a very considerate thing for customers if every item on our wishlist qualifies for any discount.

  • Everything on your wishlist (assuming you added it before today) qualifies for the 30%. Items from 3 months to about 2 years old qualify for the 50% coupon; items over 2 years qualify for the 70% coupon.

Do you mean 2 years on your wishlist, or 2 years available in the store?  Is there a date somewhere on the items in the wishlist that indicates the date they were added to the list, or the date when the DAZ product was released?

  • 2 years available in the store. There's no easy way I know of to find the date; I worked this out by checking the package dates on a few items I already owned.

You can find the release date in the readme. If you have the Daz Deals add-on you should have a link to the readme on product pages.

Does anyone know how or where to find the ReadMe for each DAZ product - other than using the DAZ Deals add-on, which I don't have.

I try to think of it as a game.  One tool that would be helpful in this game is a Save For Later option in the cart.  Moving things back into my wishlist only to find the total has increased makes me have to sort through hundreds of wishlist items to find it again.  Would be nice to move things in & out of an intemediary Save For Later checkout section.

When I remove items from the cart for the same reason, I open them to another tab first.

Wow. I wasn't really going to buy anything today. Rosie wanted me to make a small purchase to test out a new credit card - make sure it works for when we need it tomorrow.

I notice a bunch of stuff from my wish list in the Classic Gems Wishlist sale.

Ended up getting a Mocap Online pack for less than $10 (normally $44.95 and worth it) and scratched three of my Must-Have Daz + items out of my wish list - which is a nice haul for me!

She wanted me to keep it small... it was small! But HUGE!

$107.80 - $91.37 + $0.91 Tax = $17.34!!! Yikes that's awesome! Especially since everything in there is worth it's full price (though I can't afford that right now)!!!

Thanks Rosie and Thanks Daz 3d and your awesome Vendors!!!

Now it's time to start my actual project. laugh

    But wait...
Black Friday is still coming. indecision

The tokens have made me buy way more than I would have otherwise bought. I think I'm going to take a break from buying for a while.

Buying items at 90-99% off for the past 8 months has made me picky... The normal 50-70% off offers don't temp me one bit anymore.
