Nothing make me have a homicidal psychotic break more than websites where there is a menu with choices like:

Hardware: Steel - Brass - Stainless Steel - Zinc - Galvanized

... So you click on a choice/category and the next window isn't what you clicked on, it's a window with the same choices, but 1980s grade pictures of the choices and you have to click on the picture to proceed... So I click "Brass" and in the next screen I have a screen full of low resolution images of hardware and I have to find "brass" again and click on the picture of a brass screw to get the catalog page with brass screws to open.

OMG it's not 1998 anymore, nobody needs a 14 pixel image of a product to confirm the word "Brass" and a picture of a brass screw are the same... clickable pictures are not a novelty anymore... words suffice.

Seriously what the ever-living eff is that?... Who gets to walk away from that without me reading about it on CNN titled "Web Designer Beaten Savagely With Filing Cabnet And Stuffed Into Server Housing" after they presented that feature to the client?

What site owner hates their customers so much that that is ok?

Add to that a horribly slow site that is hostile to mobile devices.

Are you sure you don't already have it?  It's from 2021!

I did purchase it! In 2021!

No, she is AKC registered, but we just wanted her to be our little girl, and spaying and neutering is a responsible thing to do. There are more pets born than people that want them, unfortunately.

A Ponderable:  Disney World has been giving large, marvelous, impressive fireworks displays essentially every night for 50 years in the same spot. If you think about it too much, you'll realize that the tree leaves are covered with fireworks ash every morning when people start arriving.  A little breeze and you're breathing last night's fireworks when you walk around the park.frown  Perhaps the plants love the minerals though.indecision  Some time in the not so far future some enterprising person will dive down to what's left of the sunken World of Disney and mine those long accumulated minerals.enlightened  Along with the treasures to be found in the garbage mountain archipelago islands strung down both coasts of sunken Florida along the old routes of I-95 and I-75.

A few years ago I read an article about the lake at Epcot being polluted by the heavy metals from the fireworks displays... I can't find anything about it now and when you Google various versions of that query, you get lots of rosy essays on how not so toxic Disney fireworks are... Like almost nothing negative, but if you leave Disney out of the search you can find a couple of articles about how fireworks are NOT good for the environment.

Seems like someone was busy with an internet mop and brush.

Inhaling the smoke long term definitely isn't good for you... burning strontium, boron, barium, magnesium and titanium are pretty terrible.

As far as garbage... I'm pretty sure in the not so distant future someone is going to become the next Uber-trillionaire by mining garbage.
Regardless of what some say, everything can be recycled, the only real impediments are sorting, extraction and monetary motivation... all impediments will evaporate once the monetary motivation switch is flipped.

Complaint: Who the hell designs the Parking Lot Mazes?

Is the purpose to enrage people and promote road rage?

Did you ever notice how if you go to an old shopping center or facility with a parking lot, it's straight forward, almost a grid with logical entrances and exits... but anything after 1995 requires a goddamn twenty sided dice to determine whether you get out or not?

What the eff is going on?

What nefarious cabal of evil supervillains is behind this shiznit?

I stopped by a new BJ's before... it's located on a site that used to be a Macy's... the Macy's parking lot was a grid... no problems... the BJs decided that their customers either don't want to go home or they aren't happy unless they are driving around trying to get out of a maze...

My guess is some idiot with a BA in something akin to psychology came up with a theory that direct exits from parking lots encourage people to drive fast, but mazes encourage people to drive like homicidal sociopaths hellbent on carnage, which is somehow safer or better than less dangerous.

The mall near me was redone back in the early 2000s and they opted to adopt a maze and do away with a grid... I have seen so many people lose their minds and just freak out and drive insanely because they get stuck zig zagging around islands and barriers... they end up far more dangerous than some speeding...

But maybe that's the point... prevent a speed related accident on the property, who the hell cares if it ensures something worse on the street.

I'm not going to go crazy and start running over trees in the parking lot, but if I were leaving the place and was waiting at the light and some gentlemen knocked on my window and introduced himself as the architect who designed the parking lot and wanted my opinion on how good a job he did, I definitely would have beaten him soundly with my car door.

I will admit that late one night in Georgia I pulled into a parking lot at a strip mall to get some fast food but couldn't get to the place due to the maze design, so I just drove over the dividing island and perhaps a little bit of shrubbery... but gentle... and after having driven around a bit... People do that all the time, cutting through the landscaping, what's the big deal about doing it slowly with a SUV?

Hmmm good complaint but I'll raise you 1.Shopping centers with named streets as the aisles ....... talk about confusion at least for me I'm use to shopping centers that have hugh parking lots and the aisles are not streets.......they might be lettered but they are not streets.......

Non complaint; Finally getting temperatures in the 15-20C range (59-68F) smiley

...so two days in the 70s (reached 78 on Wednesday) and today it was 71 in the 'hood when I went to the market, AsI almost got to my aprtment building it began bucketing rain and has been doing so since. We'll be lucky to see 60 on Sunday with (as you probably guessed it), more water from the sky.  About a week ago the forecast was for temps in the 70s and even low 80s all week with mostly sunny conditions through the weekend, Now we are looking at rain through Monday and maybe 72° and sunny on Wednesday (before even more wt stuff starting Thursday)  but I expect that to be downgraded as well. Looks as if it may be shaping up to being one of those years without a summer.

Need to win that lotto so I can move to Hilo HI. Yeah only 12 hours of daylight all year long, but average high temps of 78° - 85° all year long as well with only that brief shower at around 15:00 in the afternoon.

....this year's Daz+ sale has been something of a letdown so far. In several ways it just seems like just another Daz sale where you need to buy one or more new releases (or in the case of tonight, a 35$ bundle) to unlock extra discounts and special deals.  There has rarely been a sale ctegory that offers Daz+ members an extra discount or special offer (I thin k I've seen one so far).  The free "Megapack" is from last year, the Daz "Extra Freebie" is only "free" with a certain  minimum purchase (tonight 20$ and it's been in the store since 2020), while the Daz+ For a Day and the BYOB sales tend to feature a large amount of older (Gen4 and earlier) produces, a fair portion of which are poses and Iray texture updates for older content..

I also remember that Daz+ member would get an extra 10% off on all new releases and DOs (40% total) however that isn't happening either.

Seems no where near the bargains and deals I've seen in past years. So far I've only spent a total of about 16$ whereas last year I went though a fair portion of a big gift card by now (good I didn't buy one before this sale).

It's as if being a Daz+ member really isn't much of a benefit for this sale anymore.

It was probably Batman and Robin again... they got blindsided by the Chocolatier, that insane chocolate themed supervillain from Hershey, Pennsylvania... he was probably going to turn them into delicious full sized M&Ms.

You know, rumor has it that The Chocolatier was one of the orphans that grew up at the Hershey School... he was a troubled child who fell into a vat of experimental chocolate when a bat startled him... the incident drove him mad and he swore revenge on Batman because of that... He also swore revenge on slippery walkways, low railings, smooth soled shoes, dim light bulbs, Thursday and for some reason the actor who played Mr Whipple in the Charmin commercials.

...however, I remember seeing and getting better deals/discounts than I've seen so far. which included special discounts for being a (then) PC+ member than I've been seeing so far.

The "Extra Freebie" should be relabelled as say, "Bonus Item" as one has to purchase something else to get it (even Daz+ members).  Also wondering why it hasn't been a new item, but (in this case) been in the store for nearly two years.

Probably, if you can convince them you are male - unles the US actually charges men and women the same for haircuts.

...wonderful, while the Southwest and Texas is in the "easy bake oven", we have a river flood warning here. We've had 3" of rain in just the last 24 hours (not counting what fell on Thursday) with more on the way through early Tuesday.  Really wish we could send some of this their way as we've had more than enough to fill the reservoirs and then some.  This is extreme even for here this time of year.

I'm on day 5 of my antibiotics, and I'm really not getting better. It's as if every day a different symptom moves to the forefront, so I'm not as phlegmy as I was last week, but I've been fatigued, dizzy, achy and hot in different degrees. Part of me is hoping that somehow a mistake was made and they accidentally gave me a penicillin-based antibiotic, and this is my reaction to it. I've always been told that I'm allergic to penicillin, but I have no idea how I supposedly react to it; if this is it, it's not great, but it's pretty manageable, all things considered.

Acceptable Complaint:  (*Sigh*) I finally had to admit that my old laptop just ain't got it no more.sad  I gave up and uninstalled Norton360 and surprise, surprise, this ancient 4GB laptop running Win10 with a 2-core Pentium CPU, at 2.1GHz is up and running in just a couple of minutes instead of the two hours it used to take while it tried to catch up with security scans.  (Not so much Norton's falult but rather the 4GB RAM forcing oodles of paging swaps to the disk, a SATA SSD)

I've done everything else to boost this ancient machine into the 3rd decade of the 21st century and he still shuffles his feet.  So now, I have to start lightening the old guy's load.  I guess my laptop is now in semi-retirement mode.  indecision

I'd really like to get a new laptop but I simply can't justify it.  I don't do housecalls anymore.  And besides I have a house full of non-frustrating, functional computers.  There is no compelling reason to blow my budget on a modern laptop.  ...   Damn!angry

Perhaps I can check with a local 'puter fix-it shop and see if they have any half decent, used, 8GB capable, 4-core laptops for sale?enlightened
